"Un día más, Señor, te doy las gracias"

This short film is a tribute to my grandma Esmeralda. I filmed her daily life after losing her husband to dementia not long before filming this.

My grandpa was a big book enthusiast and dedicated his life to writing books and poems. He suffered important heart attacks numerous times. After his first one, he wrote a very long poem the morning after waking up in the hospital. The voiceover is a summarized version of it.

The poem was written in 1991, originally in Spanish. His words reflect love, resilience, and the beauty of living fully. It’s my way of honoring them both and keeping their story alive.
